"Mont St Michel" Bayeux tapestry
Detail from the Bayeux Tapestry created in the 11th century which retraces the history of the conquest of England by William the Conqueror. Some scenes talk about french monuments such as the famous Mont Saint Michel. The inscription "HIC VVILLEM : DVX : ЄT ЄXЄRCITVS : EIVS : VЄNЄRVNT ADMONTЄ MIChAЄLIS" means that the Duke Guillaume and his army are about to arrive at Mont (St) Michel".
Each tapestry is woven on true original Jacquard looms and delivered lined and ready to hang up on wall. A certificate of authenticity is affixed on the back.
