This silk and satin scarf is inspired by Othon Friesz's painting "Pointe du Capucin", 1907.

Othon Friesz (1879-1949) was a significant contributor to the Fauvist revolution. In 1905 he exhibited at the Autumn Salon in a room adjoining that of the famous La Cage aux Fauves, showing members of the young generation gathered around Matisse. Here, Friesz joins his Fauvist comrades in embracing the spontaneity and lyricism of the “baroque” line. Guillaume Apollinaire spoke of “gentle violence”, a pretty oxymoron used to designate a work stretched between the expressive and the decorative.
