Atlas (meaning "the bearer" in ancient Greek) is one of the Titans of Greek mythology, father of the Pleiades, Hyades, Hesperides and Calypso. Following his defeat in the war of the Titans against the gods of Olympus and Zeus to reign over the world, Zeus condemns him to carry the celestial vault for eternity on his shoulders. He is petrified by Perseus and metamorphosed into the Atlas, a mountain range in North Africa.

The bronze metallization (the sculpture is covered with a bronze bath) guarantees its elegance. The quality of manufacture and finish is faithful to the Parastone workshop.
