The first chessboards from this workshop were made in 1976 near Florence, thanks to Aldo Marsili and his passion for this game, but above all thanks to his skills in artistic craftsmanship. The first chess sets made for his friends were so successful that soon the simple hobby became the work of a lifetime.
The Italfama workshop offers chessboards in classic and contemporary styles, as well as chess pieces with historical themes such as famous battles and great characters who have marked history.
To create this range of high quality chess boards, precious materials are carefully chosen, such as briar, elm and walnut wood; semi-precious stones like onyx, Carrara marble and malachite, while the chess pieces are fashioned in durable metals like brass and bronze, in various finishes ranging from classic satin to gold and to money.
