Joanna Maitland-Hudson, english artist : "With a background in interior design and specialist decorative affects, my current practice is quite focused on statement pieces that will work well within larger interior schemes. I paint in oils often using gold leaf embelisshment. My style is representational with photorealistic elements but also highly decorative. I have a particular love for birds and Eastern art and this influence can be seen in most of my paintings in terms of composition, subject and the use of gold leaf."
